Kites link all parties together, cultural tourism provides a platform; Facing the sea, there are Spring blossoms. On the occasion of opening of the 36th Weifang International Kite Festival, the 3rd China Binhai International Art Biennial is held grandly on Weifang Binhai Joy Sea Beach. The Biennial is organized by the Publicity Department of Weifang Municipal Party Committee of the CPC, Weifang Culture and Tourism Bureau, Weifang Marine Development and Fisheries Bureau and Management Committee of Weifang Binhai Economic and Technological Development Zone and is jointly undertaken by Weifang Binhai Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Weifang Binhai Tourism Group, Weifang Think Tank Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Weifang Art Gallery Association and Tiandirenhe Culture Media Co., Ltd. Li Xiangqun, the Deputy Director of Weifang Culture and Tourism Bureau, Li Shusen, the Deputy Secretary of Binhai Party Working Committee, Ding Hanbang, President of Weifang Technicial Institute and Repsonsible Personnel of the Group attended the opening ceremony.

According to information, the Biennial will last from Apr. 20 to May 10. Over 100 artists from many countries and regions are invited to participate in the Biennial, including China, the US, Germany, Russia, France, Canada, South Korea, Spain, etc. More than 200 works were displayed on Weifang Binhai Joy Sea Beach, enabling the tourists to feel the visual impact and shock brought by contemporary arts and establishing a new platform for impact, exchange and discussion of arts in all fields at home and abroad and also opening a new channel for globalized, professional and branded construction of Binhai cultural tourism.

In recent years, Weifang Binhai Tourism Group has been insisting on integrated development of cultures and tourism and has successively held many large-scale cultural tourism festivals and competitions such as the Weifang International Kite Festival, World Kiteboarding Championships, International Equestrian Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, China Sailing League, China Dragon Boat Open Championship, etc. to forge featured cultural tourism brands. In the next step, Weifang Binhai Tourism Group under the leadership of Binhai Party Working Committee and Management Committee will further stick to the development philosophy of tolerance and openness, take marine cultures and salt & fishery cultures as the basis, accelerate development of cultural tourism projects and create new cultural tourism development modes by virtue of exchange, integration, inclusiveness of diversified cultures to make more contributions to further development of the cultural tourism industry of Binhai District.
